Description

Cyclic Dextrin Scitec Cyclic Dextrin is a high-molecular-weight drink powder that provides a complex source of carbohydrates, making it an ideal choice for post- e recovery following intense and/or prolonged workouts, as well as for sustained energy supply during continuous exertion. The sugar-free formula is unflavored, making it excellent for combining with other flavored pre- or intra-workout products. What is Cyclic Dextrin (Cluster Dextrin®)? Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin (HBCD) is a unique carbohydrate source produced using a patented process. Unlike traditional carbohydrates (such as plain maltodextrin or glucose), HBCD has a high molecular weight and extremely low osmolality. Sports science research and clinical studies highlight that this special structure allows HBCD to pass through the stomach rapidly without causing stomach discomfort (such as bloating or a feeling of fullness). Once it leaves the stomach, it is absorbed evenly in the small intestine, providing the body with a stable, long-lasting energy supply during endurance and strength sports, while avoiding sudden drops in blood sugar that impair performance. High-intensity and/or prolonged physical activity leads to muscle fatigue and the depletion of skeletal muscle glycogen stores (carbohydrate reserves). The carbohydrates in Scitec Cyclic Dextrin have been shown to contribute to the restoration of normal muscle function (contraction). (EFSA, 2013) The beneficial effect is obtained if the athlete consumes a total of 4 g of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight from any source within the first 4, but no later than 6 hours after exercise.
